the first time i had electrolsis done ,the girl singed the hair and then pulled it out with twezzers , i went to a different salon and they didnt use the tweezers ,but i came up with follicalitis ,and some nasty hrd bumps on my chin . this was 3 weeks ago and ive still got the bumps and the hairs grown back , i want to have it done again ,but im reluctant what went wrong?

Basically they were not very good at it.Go to someone that specialises in electrolysis rather than just any beauty therapist in a salon ,very few nowadays have enough training and experience but are still required to do it in salons.Often by force:)
Ask questions, how much experience do they have, what qualifications, how long have they been doing it, do they enjoy it ,try and get one with a blend machine.
When you get to the stage where you are actually on the couch make sure they are confident and their insertions are good and that they are not going in and out before they press the current, if it keeps hurting when the needle goes in its in the wrong place, time to get up and leave.
If done properly its great and very effective if done incorrectly it can leave permanent scarring, cause loss of pigment and it also will not work.

I couldn't agree more there. Electrolysis is one of those areas where competence and good technique is particularly critical, primarily due to the risk of facial scarring. So it definitely pays to find a skilled electrologist, preferably with lots of client recommendations too.

Definetly check their qualifications and when they last updated them. Look at the BIAE (British Association of Electrolysis) website for electrolygists who have gone through further examinations to get into the institute.

also if you go to the sterex website they will give you a list of salons that offer it and have trained with them and who have also completed advanced training that may be helpful

Also if still unsure book a free consultation with a few salons in your area and go and have a look around.

Singeing the hair - she must not have probed very far.

hen you nest have an electrolysis treatment - you sould barely feel the probe enter the skin - then you will feel a heat (sorry but it is uncomfortable - I can't lie) then the hair should be lifted out without any tugging.

Any skin raised bumps after the treatment is normal but it sounds to me that the intensity of the heat was too much for the skin.

Your first treatment with a new operater should be 5 mins to see how the skin reacts.

Good luck.
