Enhancements for swimmers

Iv'e heard that gel enhancements are the most suitable for a person who swims regulary,,,,,why?
Would l+p be more prone to lifting,,,if so, would that be due to being in the water for lengthy times,(45 minutes 6 times per week), or would it be due to the chlorine, or contributions by both?
Very interested to hear any replies.

Hi Trin, thanks for that, I did try to do a search, but for some reason it would'nt respond,,,,,will keep trying though,,thanks again.
