Hi guys,

I have a client that has very hard skin on the pads of her feet and heels. Pumice, rasps, dremmel, scrubs and callous remover doesn't help, and her hard skin just stays the same. I'm not trained with a pedi knife and I realise this is a chiropodist job to use a knife . I'm just wondering if there is anything other than a pedi knife that would help?

Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance xx

Well, if it's really that bad she should really go see a specialist. But if you want you could try the microplane-to me it's the best at removing hard skin (after the credo blade in which I was trained years ago and that's now banned in most places).

Have you tried using callus peel? She could have treatment once every 4 weeks and use a cream at home that helps too melt hard skin xxxx

Was just about to suggest Callus Peel

Hi Ladies,

You may also wish to consider MAVEX Calluspeeling® which is now available in the UK. The below points differentiate it from other products on the market:

- 4 pads in each sachet as standard - so enough to treat both feet.
- Approved as a Medical Device Class 1 with proven results.
- Professional only product and not available online.
- Manufactured in Switzerland to the highest European quality control standards.
- The ingredients are organic.
- Not tested on animals.

If you would like more information and pricing, please email me on [email protected]

MAVEX Switzerland have a range of professional only treatments for feet, hands, and face. All information is on our website mavexsa.com

Kind regards,
Alison

Where can I buy a micro plane?

Sweet squared stock them.

I would recommend the following:
- Mavex Callus Peeling treatment - for amazing results
- Encourage her to book for follow-up appt
- Advise your client to buff her feet gently once a week - not more, with a pumice or good quality foot file
- Retail her or advise her where to get an excellent foot cream with 25% urea content (any less will not be effective in her case).

The thing about hard skin is that there are no miracles to be had, but if you provide a regular treatment (eg Callus Peeling) and she is dedicated to maintain her feet in between appointments with you, it will go a long way to keeping it under control. I highly recommend the Microplane too (available from Sweet Squared) and their Marine Spa pedi range.

Hope that helps!
