Greenwich council - displaying a-boards?

Does anyone know if you need permission from the council to display an a-board outside your business?

I've just ordered one and it's just hit me that I may actually need permission to display it..

Does anyone know? Will call them tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else needed permission?

'technically' with most major councils you do. However if it's not impeding foot traffic you generally won't hear from them.

Most people don't realise in some councils you even need planning permission to change your shop sign. Someone I know done a sign job for a guy and the council took him to court and he had to take it down because they didn't like the colour.
