At the beginning of this month, David Cameron travelled to Pakistan and met with the franchisee of TONI&GUY Karachi to talk business. Saeeda Mandviwalla, who opened the Karachi salon in 2008, spoke with the Prime Minister about how the TONI&GUY brand has grown in Pakistan and the importance of 50 years of global celebrations they are organising in 2013 and the challenges that are faced by hairdressers trying to make it in the hairdressing industry in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister met with a the group of top business representatives and entrepreneurs last week and heard the companies’ positive experiences after investing in the country and encouraged global companies such as TONI&GUY to continue to expand in Pakistan. He also stressed the importance of the British Government building further business links with Pakistan.

“It was a fantastic opportunity to be able to spend time with Mr. Cameron and speak about what makes global businesses work in Pakistan, especially successful global companies such as TONI&GUY,” said salon franchisee Saeeda Mandviwalla.

The Prime Minister was keen to encourage vocational training as well as successful apprenticeships, offered by companies like TONI&GUY, with the UK supporting programmes to help build the skills of those who want to work in the hair and beauty sector.

Until then...geek on!
