Hairstyle advice

I know this may not be the best place to post this up, but I can't find anywhere else to get advice. I'm a 21 year old male and am thinking about changing my hairstyle. I currently have it cut 4 on back and sides and just cut short on top. My hair is very thick and I can't seem to do much with it apart from push it to the left and flick it up on the fringe. I am thinking about growing it a bit, and then shaving the sides down to a 1 or 2 and slicking the top back like Brad Pitt in the film fury. My main concern is if it will suit me, will my hair stay back. Any advice will be appreciated.

Try it and see. You will need to use the right products to keep it slicked back otherwise, it might look untidy.

Do you normally go to a barbers or a hair salon? Most salons will offer a free consultation initially so it might be worth visiting a few and see how you feel. There are some great new style funky barbers out there too. It's a question of shopping around to find them.
