Hi ya and welcome to the board.

Have you tried your local college as most do beauty courses some aslo include hairdressing i know when i left school i went to my local college and the beauty course were 2 years long and covered all aspects of beauty training.

You could also try speaking to your school careers officer (if you have one) i think going to college would probably be your best bet as nail training alone cost quite a bit of money and at 15 it would take you a lifetime to save up for it i know it took me months and months and i was in full time employment.

I hope you get it sorted babe and let us know how you get on.

Hi Honey

You should be able to get in contact with 'connexions' they are a lifeline for answering questions just like yours.

Or go to one of your nearest colleges when they have an open evening, it is great that you know what you want and you want to get it. Well done you!!

Take care xx

Welcome to the board.

I also think college is your best route, plus once you have the beauty side of things under your belt, you can then add on nails at a later date when funds allow. Just don't go for cheap courses as they will work out a waste of time and money. You get what you pay for in this industry.

Any more help or advice needed, you know where to come. Go for it girl.

Welcome to the site....
Well you are the right age to start learning any kind of Beauty and nails. There is SO much you could go for and have so much under your belt when it comes to getting a job. Pick a course you really want to do and don't cut corners, get the right training. You will save in the long run.
What kind of job were you thinking of?
Did you just want to do nails?
Hope we can be of help when you decide what you are going to do.

Personally i would go to college & do Beauty NVQ Level 2 & 3 (Especially while its free) & this will give you a wide range of beauty treatments to study & you could pick out the ones you are most good at/enjoy & specialise in them once you complete the course for example Nails & waxing, you sound really mature at 15 asking for advice about your future, GOOD LUCK, Shelley xxx

Try and do your Trident work experience in a salon, if you haven't done it already! I got a letter from a young lady saying she wanted salon experience for 4 weeks in the summer holidays before she started her beauty course at college, and she would do it for nothing, but hoped it could lead to a Saturday job. Well I was so impressed that I immediately got her in for an interview. Her commitment shone through and I would have created a job for her as dedication like that doesn't knock on your door that often. Sadly my salon dreams fell through and so it didn't work out in the end, but I hope she found somewhere else.

I'm also 15, i would personally love to do nails and beauty but am going go uni instead and get a degree(mum also wants me go uni!). My advice would be choose a nail and beauty place for you work experience (if you have'nt yet done so) and see if you would enjoy and be commited to the job. Then check out colleges in your area and see when the open evenings are there usually around this time of year, go to the open evenings. See which courses suit you best and which college has best facilities etc. Then apply for a course started next september once you have left school (i'm guessing your in year 11 here if not the september after!). Thats all i can suggest really,i don't know too much about things like this, only stuff i've been taught at school!
good luck x

hi there,
a good way to start would be for you to go to college when you have left school to do your NVQ levels 2 & 3.
