Hi Everyone

Just a bit of information if anyone can help? I've a client who is on medication (Prozac) and her nails which are usually quite healthy have become dry, brittle prone to splitting with increase growth of the skin in the cuticle area.

Could the Prozac contribute to this? Does anyone else have any clients with similar problems from taking this medication? Any suggestions/remedies?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

Lorraine

Everything that we eat, our diet, and our general state of mind and health has an effect on the rest of our body.

Rather than trying to determine what has caused the change in her nail condition (which is not our job to do) try to treat the condition with good advise on a moisturizing routine for this client.

Regular use of solar Oil helps to shrink the eponychium and reduce the over growth. Regular use of Cuticle Eraser will also help remove unwanted cuticle. Why not enhance these nails to protect them from splitting, peeling and breaking. Also a good hand lotion like Solar Butter as the icing on the cake to keep the rest of her skin nice and moist and supple.

My friend is taking the same medication and she has said that it has had an effect on her hair and nails. Her hair has gone really dry and had a lot fall out and her nails have gone really brittle. She has been on the med before and she says everything does recover with time. Hope this helps.
