At no point have I said I had a problem, I was simply asking why she shouldn't have a detailled list of prices.

This is from her website home page -

"We specialise in all areas of waxing, from Brazilians to brows and everything in between."

It is perfectly acceptable for someone to have a treatment they specialise in and therefore want to have the focus on the treatment and yet offer other treatments aswell.

It may be 'normal' to have one section of a price list dedicated to each treatment but maybe Jenny doesn't want to be 'normal'! She may actually want to set herself out from the crowd as this can often draw a potential clients attention.

As far as I can see Jenny has done nothing but welcome all comments she has received regarding her website.

Hun u have just hit the nail on the head here chic, i could not have answered it better myself, apart from my spelling may have been a bit worst for wair lol

I see Ruth has tweaked the names again! Love them!
~ Keep up the good work Ruth!! ~

I like the idea of keeping the Brazilian and Hollywood as they are names that people are beginning to know and relate to intimate waxing....I also like your unique names for your other services! I have been a therapist for many years and know there are many clients who want the services but are sometimes a little shy about coming out and asking directly for what they want so they names really help in that department!

ZoZo - I think its a shame that you think a difference in opinion must result in an argument, maybe that could also be a reason why some people may not return to the site after being members for some time. There will be no pm from me as I do not feel the need to argue about what should be a healthy debate.

I really cannot be bothered to trawl through your previous posts, but I am sure you have talked about how quiet business is for you just now. Business is not quiet for me. Waxing really is my bread and butter. But I do not have one single client who comes just to have their butt crack waxed. So... how many butt crack clients do you really have?

Also, I would not dream of charging for areas like toes and belly buttons. And I agree with Bombini, half an arm or half a leg is just that. But maybe that's why I am BUSY. Feel free to ignore advice from someone who is making a good living.

I GIVE UP. OVER AND OUT. :green:

Business had been quite, but is now fast on the increase and to be honest, i will dismiss your comments due to your obviouse lack of understanding for the industry and my business, i appretiate all comments good and bad but i think you have taken this a little to far. Every one is entitled to there own opinions, but there is give ing an opinion and being rude . I would kindly appretiate it if you would keep such comments off this thread and forum:irked:

Well I thought it amusing to name the treatments after our cats, even though none of them are Sphinx cats...

(don't worry - they are born that way - although I fancied getting one just so I could name it "Gillette" lol)...

Oops, don't get on a mardy ladies (either of you lol). I guess there may be different opinions as to pricing waxing treatments; I know Kim (UK Wax Queen) goes for the more detailed approach; as far as I am concerned, either are equally valid, and it's a matter of choice as to which an individual would go for.

Ah, so that's where they got the idea for the Gremlins from then - Sphinx cats!

Just like Spielberg got the idea for E.T. from a pug dog ;)

Quite right!
Each to their own I say!

I like to have a detailled price list, I have had various service menus over the years but the ones with more detail and choice have definitely worked better for me. Like it has already been said, the client then knows exactly what they are getting for their money....just my view, it works for me!

My waxing list is written in this way because i have an awful lot of ladies that ask for these services, and often as i have found u end up doing these treatments for free. ( many waxing geeks on this forum also provide such a formative list, and have add on's)
Allot of therapist that do not specielise in a specific treatment just advertise bikini waxing and no matter how much they take off they still only charge that price. Or a client will say could u just wax my toes or my feet or could you just wax my tummy and it all ends up one price. By showing the prices in this way it shows women that have problems in specific area that it is normal but also helps me and the client on what to expect in regards to cost of there treatment.
You have mentioned the bottom waxing and why any one would just have this treatment, hun many do, either because they just are consiouse or they have ovariaon cists and all sorts, and they do not like to ask , ummm, could u wax my bottom or could, they preffer to use other words that my client understands and i do. Can you imagine being at work, office full of staff and when u had a spare five minutes ringing your therapist to book in for a butt crack wax, i don't think so. So on this one i will have to disagree chicxxx

Exactly right Jenny.......glad you remembered that from your training. Well done. xxx

how long have you been doing waxing & intimate waxing hun?

how long have you been doing waxing & intimate waxing hun?

I have been waxing for as long as i can remember, I qualified gosh back in 1999. I did a two year level 2 and 3 course that covered waxing and pretty much everything. Intamate waxing is a new thing for me, i trained with kim in june this year. But if i think back i have done relitevly intamate areas years ago but never really thought of it in that way. i am originally from york and when i moved to chesterfield i use to go there about once a month for a weekend and do ladies in between my children and work here. I used to wax bottom back then as had ladies that had excessive hair growth in those areas and they felt comfortable with me, so would do a leg wax and a bum wax.
U here of horror stories, well i remember my lady at my mums saying could you wax my bottom and my nipple area. She would litterally wisper it. But i forgot to close the curtains and it never crossed my mind, she had her bottom in the air and the room i was working in faced on to a bowling green, well i looked up and thought sh++ and quickly shut the curtains, have come along way since then . Mind my lady had no idea which was lucky.
I have worked in salons and mainly mobile, doing lots of childrens parties and fares as my boys both have speciel kneeds and only know have i been able to really throw myself into my work. I am loveing being home based and slowly word is getting around. I am averaging at least two new ladies a week which is brill and they all keep coming back. Allot of my clientel are larger ladies have no idea as to why and waxing is my bread and butter, but i do the odd jessica ped and occasional nail extensions which have driven me mad for years now, but i keep trying. Ruth has been amazing because she gave me an extra push when i was down as so much in my life has been going on, making it easier to sit back so to speak. Plus ladies keep coming which i think has suprised me some what as i am so criticall of my work. But u no waxing i have a love for and my ladies see this and with confidence comes respect i suppose. Just want to get that with nails to.
So i think considering i have two boys who have been very poorly, my eldest having autisum, adhd and a sever to profound hearing inpairement i am doing rather well. Hope that answers your questions hun, kind of told u my life story at the same time lolxxx:hug:

Wow! Well, personally, I really admire you for wanting to build your own business despite having a really busy personal life...you must have your hands full with your boys and yet your still willing to work hard on your career.

Its good to hear that new clients are coming each week....make sure you have a fab refer a friend offer to encourage even more new clients! Nothing works better than word of mouth.

Anyway, this site is still "work in progress" as far as I'm concerned - it's not finished yet by any means! Am juggling this site along with a web site for another geek on here at the moment - although the other geek is just feeding me new pages for her site one every couple of days or so - so I am hopefully keeping up to date on that other site too :)

he he he is this one mine Ruth? Sorry for being so slow with it

I love what you have done so far - i totally recommend you too - you have so much patience. x

The website looks great:), you have obviously put alot of time and thought into it.

Just a suggestion if you do any events or news in press or in the community it would be nice to have an additional heading. This way you build up a more personal profile of the you and your team in the community. You can also advertise any special open evenings, charity events, shows etc you are running or attending so clients see you are very proactive.
