I have a salon which I've had 3 years, but looking to open another closer to home. Do you think having two salons is too much hassle? Not sure wether to sell my first and start new?

2 x salons = 2 x headaches
Two lots of overheads, staff, accounts etc etc
Would your clients expect you to be in both places ?
If you can expand closer to home, I think you will save yourself a lot of heartache in the long run.
Just my opinion though !

I agree. Personally I'd rather expand into a new space, I'm sure your regular clients would rather see your face there, regardless of if you're performing their treatment. Plus once you account two lots of overhead costs would you be making a great profit?
Good luck with whatever you decide! X

Why not employ a manager to run the other salon?

Rent out all the chairs, you just pay the bills and collect the rent.

It must be worth while how many chains are there?
