Hi,

I love the effects of Mother of Pearl over other colours & was thinking of asking for this next time I visit my local salon but I'm a bit wary in case I end up with 4 layers of shellac (2 x colour, 2 x MoP). Would this happen? If so, would it take a lot longer to remove?

Sorry if this seems a dumb question but I'm fairly new to the shellac system, have had it done twice & love it!

Many Thanks!

I do lots of layering with Mother of Pearl it gives a beautiful finish, I only do 1 layer over the 2 coats of the main colour.
It shouldn't take any longer to remove but it will all depend on how thick the coats are applied, even then it might only be a minute or two.

When I layer, if I get good coverage with the first coat of color, I do not do a second coat. I just go to the next color, ie: Moonlight/Roses over Tutti Frutti.

Hi,

Thanks very much for all your advice, will now look forward to having it done!
