Hi there, I am a Beauty Therapist looking for some advice, my 16 year old daughter had her long brown hair highlighted for the first time, the highlights have sections which are what I can only describe as stripey as in horizontal and splodgey ?? There are parts of her hair where she looks like a Tiger..seriously.
My daughter now wants to go back a colour more like her own but maybe a bit more interesting (I understand that her base colour is a level 5 ?)
Will this be possible with her hair being two different colours or will the highlights show as a different shade, thanks in advance.

Hi there, it sounds to me like the hi lighting was done bye an inexperienced or unqualified hairdresser. I would go back to the salon and complain to the manager. If it is stripey, and she didnt ask for this then that is due to an incorrect consultation, no excuse for this. If there are splodges, then again absolutely no excuse, its not as if she doesnt like the look, it has blatently gone wrong. Complain to the salon, this is an easy problem to fix bye any competent hair dresser. They can break it up with different tints, and sort out the splodges. If her hair was virgin hair (not dyed before) and undamaged then a colour specialist can sort it out for her. To be honest if the salon let her walk out with splodgy hair, I wouldnt have much faith in the salon to be fair. I would go somewhere else, maby on a friends recomendation, and get a colourist to do it for her. It will be classed as a colour correction so may cost a bit more than normal hi lights but it will be worth it for her. x
