Why do you cut long hairs before doing a brow treatment?

Does anyone know why it's important to cut any stray and long hairs prior to doing an eyebrow shape? Been searching everywhere and can't find a good answer.

What would happen to the final brow shape if you got all the long hairs caught up in the wax?
