    Run away client

Definitely lesson learned and unfortunately we always come across the odd horrible client within our industry. Brush it off, your work looks beautiful by the way. I don’t see any faults at all x

    Feeling ill after massage

Is your client drinking enough water? It could be that they are lacking hydration, which can lead to the liver and kidneys having to work harder to process the increased amount of metabolic waste. We are always advising clients to keep hydrated after their massage, but we should also be advising...

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

Just another couple of things I found on a thread on here. Worth a read!

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

Exactly. You’ve taken the words right out of my mouth!! Exactly what I lacked in my quick replies whilst travelling. This subject will always have a divided opinion, however - I stand by mine! Xx

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

If a few nurses frown upon beauty therapists for performing lip fillers then their opinions are correct ..... right?

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

    Thanks for your opinions.

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

We could literally go round in circles with this subject! X

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

I’m in no way being defensive. Again it’s my opinion..... Thanks for the advice though lol ? I Definitely haven’t missed the point .. Nurses don’t have an understanding of the skin (functioning of etc) as well as a beauty therapist/skin specialist would. Not trying to offend anyone. My opinion! X

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

Of course. I’m at UCB. (University college Birmingham) It’s a course called “aesthetic practitioner”. Have a look online. It’s a degree. x

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

Hear hear!!!!!!! You are exactly right.

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

A nursing degree is in NO WAY aesthetics. You are caring for patients. Bed baths etc etc. I am at university studying an Aesthetic practitioner course - laser treatments, chemical peels etc. And I’m already a beauty therapist anatomy and physiology trained. It’s not about just painting nails. We...

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

I would have already guessed you were a nurse - you didn’t even need to say lol. As you mentioned at the end of your reply, “if you do an injectables course, make sure this is covered” thanks for the advice we all already knew ? Obviously we would ensure this is covered lol. Go...

Filler/Botox aesthetic training advice for non-medics

Finally some positivity. So ridiculous. Fed up of hearing from nurses “beauticians aren’t qualified and should be banned etc”. How are we not when we’ve done the same filler training course as you lol. Not to mention we are anatomy and physiology trained. zzzz Xx

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

Bad press or not. I think it’s disgusting, a lot of Medical professionals don’t like that beauty therapists CAN legally train in these treatments because it’s competition for them. Remember years ago they could charge about £700 for these type of aesthetic treatments? Well now because there’s so...

    Non-medic aesthetic course recommendations?

Can I ask, are you a beauty therapist or medical professional? I’m looking into training and I’m a beauty therapist x

    Level 2 beauty therapy training

I completely agree with Lizzie on this. DEFINITELY try and work in a salon which offers a range of treatments you’ve learnt, as with everything else you still learn along the way! I would steer away from working in a spa, until at least you are completely confident in all aspects. Spa work is...

Filler/Botox aesthetic training advice for non-medics

Frowned upon or not, we shouldn’t feel like that. If we want to go for it then we should. I’m also after some info on this. X
