Cult brand NARS have named the wonderful Andrew Gallimore as their new UK Make Up Ambassador. It's a smart choice; not only have they snapped up Hunger magazine's Beauty Editor at Large, he's also got a decade of experience under his belt and the best qualification? His makeup philosophy is in perfect alliance with that of Francois Nars's.
"Andrew's affinity for bold, boundary pushing artistry marries beautifully with the philosophies Francois Nars established with the brand 20 years ago, which we still embrace today," said Frederique Lampert, NARS Regional Executive Director for Europe.
NARS has broken the boundaries in the colour cosmetics industry. No one would have considered using one product for eyes, lips and cheeks until the Multiple came along. The brand is also unabashedly cheeky and celebrates women's natural sexuality. With hero products such as the 'Orgasm' Blusher their products have morphed from cult to staple in beauty bags the world over.
While the brand has grown exponentially, they're certainly not kicking back and counting their pennies. After a sell-out launch of their huge 30-shade new lipstick range, Audacious, the brand has huge plans for the upcoming year and Gallimore's appointment seems to be the perfect way to kick that year off.
The brand is cool, edgy, unfussy. Their ad campaigns are hot and unexpected - recent NARS faces have included Charlotte Rampling and Tilda Swinton - and this seems a perfect fit with the make up artist that works regularly with publications such as Dazed & Confused, LOVE and i-D.
