Vanity Van is the brainchild of Alix Soame, who in 2008, decided that while she loved festivals, she didn't love the inevitable effect they had on her hair, nails and other such things. So, to combat the problem, she decided to bring her own salon to festivals and Vanity Van was born.

Now though, five years later, the Vanity Van has migrated where so many other festival goers desire to go - backstage. If you get yourself backstage at any festivals in the UK this year, it's likely that you'll bump into Alix and her dedicated team of therapists as they pamper the best and the brightest in the music and celebrity scenes.

I was lucky enough to bump into them behind the scenes at Radio 1's Big Weekend where they got their hands on artists such as Conor Maynard (who was in need of some make up assistance), The Foals, The Vaccines and many more. There was barely a famous face that was able to walk past without being tempted into the big beauty arms of the Vanity Van.

Alix employs nail, hair, beauty and massage therapists although a lot of her girls are multi-skilled ensuring that they can cover pretty much any beauty need that a star or celeb may have. With products such as Nicky Clarke, Batiste and Red Carpet Manicure on board they can be sure that clients will be happy with any treatment they offer.

The team will also be landing at Glastonbury, Latitude and Bestival and I have no doubt we'll be hearing a lot more from this lot as the summer wears on. Watch this space.

Until then...geek on!
