If you're into your gadgets that seem too good to be true, then this is one for you. The FDA have recently approved production of Theradome: an at-home device that uses lasers to stimulate the scalp and follicles for thicker, fuller hair.
It looks and sounds like some sort of space-age device, and funnily enough, it almost is. Designed by a NASA scientist, the helmet shoots out laser power (not LED light) that matches the strength and efficacy of in-office treatments.
They are offering the Theradome for the bargain price of $375 but that's as an introductory offer. It will eventually rise to the RRP of $675 and so far, it's for women only. The FDA haven't yet approved the use of the Theradome on men, although this is expected by the end of the year.
Apparently, you'll notice the difference after twenty six uses (if you've used it twice a week for twenty minutes) and there will be visible changes after one hundred treatments. They have a pretty comprehensive FAQ page just in case you're actually considering buying one.
Until then...geek on!
