It's not your usual hair washing advert. Forget the glossy, flowing locks, the luscious girls and the eye-blinding shine. Karen Nyberg, a US astronaut, has shared with the world one of the real mysteries of our modern times: how do astronauts wash their hair?
To be honest, it wasn't a question that had ever occurred to me but Nyberg assures us that it's something she's always been asked. Indeed, washing your hair would be tricky in a zero gravity environment where there's no running water and the water that is available floats freely through the air.
Short of shaving it off, Nyberg had to come up with a process and it's pretty tricky as this video shows:

Of course, it wasn't long before her colleague, Luca Parmitano, decided to offer us a similar video from the viewpoint of men. With his bald head though, the process was considerably easier.
Until then...geek on!
