British skincare brand Ren has signed an acquisition agreement with multinational corporation, Unilever. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed and the deal should be finalised in May, subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Rem was created in 2000 by Antony Buck and Robert Calcraft and the multi-award-winning brand is sold in fifty countries. It's built a committed consumer base around a motto of “performance; purity; pleasure.” The range of high-performance skin care is sold predominantly in specialty stores and pharmacies.

Speaking of the deal, Vasiliki Petrou, Unilever senior vice president prestige brands said, "It is a brand with an incredibly loyal following, with a unique proposition that no doubt gives it potential for even further growth, especially given that the naturals category is one of the fastest-growing in skin care globally. Its premium positioning complements well our existing portfolio."

Buck, chief executive of Ren, said, "It’s time for the brand to go to the next level. Unilever makes the perfect partner to help Ren fulfill its future potential worldwide. We can’t wait to get started."

Until then...geek on!
