Hi Ladies

I am in the process of updating my record cards. I have "cancer" on there but would like to add "recent treatment for cancer". My question is how recent is recent?

My inclination would be to say within the last 12 months?

Advice needed please.

Thankyou :)

Hi - I do some work for a hospice and the general advice is that anyone undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy is off limits but if they are in between courses of treatment then you are OK to treat. However this depends on the cancer (likely outcomes - i.e. is it terminal) and I suggest you ask your client to chat this through with their GP & Macmillan nurse if they have one and then they will be as informed, if not more so than you.
Hope this helps a touch??

It does help thankyou :)

I've just been reading an article in "International Therapist" magazine called "Bridging the Gap" regarding the main principles of supporting clients with cancer using complementary therapies.

It doesn't discuss tanning but does cover other areas like aromatherapy, massage, reflexology and reiki.

I hope this is some help to you?
