A luxury hair straightening treatment, which incorporates gold, is now available at Brooks & Brooks Hairdressing.
Called Kerastraight, it's based on the popular Brazilian straightening technique. Technologically advanced, Kerastraight uses keratin, 22 carat gold and a vapour capture method to turn even the frizziest, most unruly hair into a sleek mane. Increasingly popular in salons, the keratin-based straightening system has produced fans and critics - the latter mainly because of the inclusion of chemicals like formaldehyde in some formulas.
Kerastraight is part of the non-formaldehyde group, harnessing a newly developed low pH protein which is also free of aldehydes. It also claims that there's no need to wait for three days to see the effects. Kerastraight's benefits are noticeable immediately, the salon and manufacturer say.
Brooks & Brooks - led by owner and Artistic Director Sally Brooks - is a London-based hairdressing salon which has been named London Hairdresser of the Year three times.
