Hi I am currently studying waxing and very confused about contra actions. Can anyone explain the difference between contra actions to product and also treatment please. Thanks
A contra action is something which happens during the treatment.... this could be
Redness
Swelling
Allergic reaction etc
A contra indication is something which is going to cause you to either restrict the treatment not carry out the treatment...
I.e.
If you had a client in for an eyebrow wax a contra indication to this could be that they have an eye infection or swelling so you wouldn't be able to carry the treatment out... hope this helps x
Contra action to product -allergic reaction, rapid swelling of the area
Contra action to treatment - burn (wax too hot), bruising, grazing or bleeding (incorrect removal), client anxiety, painful experience
