Hello, hope you don't mind me popping over from Nail Geek to get some advice off you make-up geeks...
Background info: I have suffered with acne since puberty, I'm now 28 and it's not going. I'm on medication for it and have to use a gel on my face so that I can control it. I suffer with a very oily nose and chin, my cheeks are 'normal' and my forehead can be quite dry, I think I've got my skincare down to a fine art now and my skin is looking the best it has in years but I've never been happy with my make-up.
I need good coverage due to inflamation and scarring and have used Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation for years after going through soo many foundations it's unbelievable. It does give the coverage I need but they don't have a shade to suit me, I mix 2 presently but it's still not right and the oil still always comes through on my nose by lunchtime which means it needs re-applying.
I was thinking about trying a mineral make-up as I heard you can now get good coverage with some of them. After searching through review sites I was trying to decide between Art Deco and Youngblood but now reading through posts on here, feel I should add Lily Lolo to my list too. Would any of these be better suited for my skin than the others? Or can you recommend anything else?
How abut primer? I currently use the Smashbox 'light' version, is there a better one for oily, acne prone skin?
Your advice would be greatfully received and will actually be helpful as I do plan to eventually train in make-up to. Thanks in advance
