Hi anyone no how Iam able to host a course as in I no what to do on the course ect but if I need any other qualifications. I am already an assessor. I want to do like hair up demonstrations, maybe get some heads and get them to do it. I already have experience working in a college assessing hair, but I was unsure if i hired a placed and did it myself i can just do that and charged for it, or if you needed like city and guilds permission ect.. does that make sense ? I am already self employed aswell. X

No, anyone can set up and run a class without any specific teaching qualifications at all. You wouldn’t be able to award any formal qualifications though unless your course was accredited by City & Guilds, VCTC etc. However, I think if you’re simply running a ‘bridal/hair up’ course, then you could just design and print out your own certificates of attendance to hand out at the end.

If you already have links with a local college, you could approach them about running one off ‘hair up’ classes. In my level 2 we had a bridal specialist come in and run bridal upstyling courses for one session, although I know she was already a fully qualified trainer.
There are some hairdressers who are naturally gifted at upstyling and the rest of us have to practise, practise, practise. If you have a good portfolio demonstrating your abilities, you might find some salons are willing to pay for a training session for their staff, particularly as we head into the bridal season.
