Hi there

A client bought a gift voucher for herself as I was doing a special offer. I then patch tested her closer to the appointment we scheduled to use the gift voucher. She has told me she is allergic and has a reaction to the patch test and has asked for a full refund of the voucher.

I’ve refunded her this time as I don’t have a clear policy on this but I am seeking advice for the future regarding this scenario.

Also if a normal deposit is taken and they fail a patch test do u return the deposit?

Thanks

Yes, I would fully refund in those circumstances.
This is because your insurance wouldn't cover you to do the service after the client has notified you of a reaction to the patch test (contraindication).
Therefore, effectively, you are cancelling her appointment.

Yes, a refund would be made in these circumstances.
I'd probably ask if she wanted to use the voucher for another treatment first but ultimately she's due a refund.
