How to get waxing experience?

Hi - I've just started NVQL2 in waxing and would like to add this to my treatments as soon as possible but want to feel ready when I do - could I ask for any recommendations of how you got your practice/experience - i.e. just waxed friends and family, and for how long before starting to charge? any recommendations much appreciated!
