I work in a salon that has only been open for 3 Months we decided to go with Matrix as our colour range. Neither of us having experiance with matrix we attended a Matrix A-Z course to get all the in depth imformation.

We have had nothing but trouble with grey coverage as fas as we have been told:
For 100% coverage on 50% or LESS grey hair - Natural blended collection
For 100% coverage on 50% or MORE grey hair - 5000 collection or dream age

We have been preferring to use the 5000 collection as these colours are more similar to the last range that we used and makes matching up easier but they are only giving translucent patchy coverage nearly every time.

We are literally doing everything by the book both very experienced hairdressers so it is not in the application we have been leaving them on for 45mins as we were told this would ensure coverage as it is recommended between 35-45 mins ? We are using Matrix 6% and following all the manufacturers instructions and it is still not getting the correct coverage.

Please can someone help are we doing something wrong , has anyone else got experiance in this ?

Its not you! I worked in a matrix salon 2 yrs and tried EVERYTHING to get coverage but it alwaaaays left a glassy translucent coverage. My advice is this .... Matrix for toners is fab 10a 10v 10p always beautiful, their mochas lovely, ColorSync is good, 6aa and 8aa in socolour are very cool (ideal on asian hair)
Anything else the brand is USELESS. Get yourself something like Wella for grey coverage. To save yourself the stress and embarrassment when your clients look like they could do better coverage with box dye.
Best of luck!!!

Thank you so much for your help we are really glad it's not just us !
Think we are going to change the brand that we use for grey coverage as we have had many issues and it is really embarrassing now I don't understand why they make a specialised line for grey coverage that doesn't cover!
So your recommendation is Wella can I ask why that is ?

Wella is just reliable for coverage. Even if you only stocked bases for coverage it still better than matrix
