Own business tips

Hi,
I am currently starting off my own business in the trade, plus a few alternative therapies to give clients a wider option of what's out there.

I am looking to rent a room at the moment.
I would be grateful if anyone in there own business could give me any tips or what it was like when they started or how you started what different things you would suggest to focus on/know about?

...and also this room i have had a look at is within a ladies hairdresser's. And will just be me within so a great opportunity, although the lady in charge said there was a salon 2 doors away. But then where there is a salon there is another one.
Although im holistic and tend to focus on different areas more to what a salon would. So i would still be a different option to the other salon.
