Hi Claire - I can't really see much from this shot - i would personally taper the free edge slightly they look slightly flared to me. HTH

The free edge is slightly wider than the nail it's self - tappered means to narrow. they look to be getting slightly wider as they leave the natural nails free edge - it's just how I prefer to see nails - could you take another shot this might help more
