Hello,

It looks like a lot of people are pre-etching the tips before glueing them to nails.

What are you pre-etching? Is it only the well area? Or the whole tip? With a file or with a drill?

Once the tip is pre-etched, doesn't it break when you shape the free edge?

Best regards,

Hi Frank,

You pre-blend/etch the tip so as to make blending the tip to the nail much easier. You use a 180 grit file and hold the tip between your thunb and index finger. You then file at a 45 degree angle and this removes the well, so you only have a little area which is in contact to the nail plate, afterall the tip does not give strenght, the overlay does. Its just a step to make your life easier as a nail technician.
