I thought it might be useful to create a thread for you to post your opinions and experiences of renting a chair from both the salon owner and self employed perspectives.
Hopefully, it will help future geeks to navigate their way to achieving a successful business partnership.
Here's a few to get started...
Salon Owner:
Set weekly rent gives you a regular income throughout the year, even when renter is on holiday.
Having another person to talk to.
Accommodating more clients in the salon without having to cover employment costs during the leaner months.
Renter not being very good at their craft leading to lots of complaints.
Renter being flaky and not turning up on Saturday mornings after a night out.
Self employed renter:
Having your own permanent space with low running costs and access to salon facilities.
No time or money wasted driving to appointments miles from each other.
Salon boss treating you as their employed staff.
Hopefully, it will help future geeks to navigate their way to achieving a successful business partnership.
