My mums friend is a gardener, and has just stabbed into her nail with secateurs. No blood so I don't think it's reached through the nail but has punctured it. At the moment we are treating with ice and ibuprofen. Any suggestions for keeping the nail clean?

Oh dear, ouchy!!
I would leave the air to get to it so no plaster or bandage as that would keep it moist and warm which would be perfect conditions for bacteria to breed!
I've always found Tea Tree oil good for treating and preventing nail infections.
It's early days but I would guess that the nail will become bruised soon, will need to keep an eye on it incase the bruise is quite big it can loosen the nail from the nail plate.
Good luck! X

Great advice, thank you! I've given her some Tea Tree oil [emoji5]️ x
