Hi,
I've just been reading some of the posts about CND Shellac. I trained on a 1 day man and ped & 2 day enhancements course at Sally's last year (I wish I 'd had longer to train!) but would that count as adequate for CND or not please?
Also when and where will the May show be please
thanks all! I'm excited!!!!!!!!:lick:

If you read back this entire thread, all your questions will be answered.

I merged your question to this one.

Here is everything you need to know re the EVENT in May
Welcome - Sweet Squared

You can attend the EVENT no matter what level you are at or what you use as long as you have a certificate. You will need to do a conversion class to be able to purchase CND and they would need to assess what you are missing in terms of information to get you on the same page as a CND trained technician.

Brilliant, thanks for that Geeg. As a colour specialist I have wrecked polishes, acrylics, gels and minx! Will await shellac!

thanks so much- really appreciate the quick reply just hope i can go now!

Right, Dawn, I just got home from my appointment thismorning (8:15 ) and I asked Georgette to apply a little tint to my Shellac .
She told me to tell you she used 03 with 20vol peroxide (which I gather from her is a dark brown in a strong solution and she said she would always wear gloves when applying it) but we thought it was giving it a fair test to use something strong. We left it on the nail for 15 minutes and then removed it with a towel and some water.

The tint has left a slight stain but the surprising thing to me, is that it hasn't removed the shine at all. I really thought it would dull the shine if nothing else. I would say, that if you wore the Rouge Noire colour of Shellac, you would not notice anything at all. I am wearing a bright coral red Shellac.

So yes, a strong tint will leave a slight stain but it actually looks like a shadow in the colour rather than a dirty great stain. It's there and I will be re-doing the Shellac on that nail as I'm leaving for the UK and a training tomorrow .. however, if I weren't I'd probably just leave it as it is not that noticeable. So I hope that information is useful to you and all the other hair artists out there who may be interested. Choose the right colour and a light stain wont be apparent and the beautiful shine will not be marred.

Great feedback.

I'm not a hairdresser but I bet during normal use it probably wouldn't even stain. For a proper test the colour was left on the nail for 15 minutes. Does that happen in everyday life when working with colour?

I'm just guessing, but when applying colour and you get a wee bit on your nails/hands how long is it actuall there for before you wipe/wash it off? And when removing colour your hands are in the water too.

As I said I'm not a hair pro so this is just speculation. Great test and feedback but I think it will perform even better under normal workig day circumstances. :green:

Yes if you get some on your hands while mixing and then put gloves on it can be in contact for half an hour. I am a very clean colourist but still manage to wreck my nails!

Great news about staining thank you for testing Geeg xxx

I do lash tinting and always manage to stain my nails so I can't wait for Shellac.

Just booked my Shellac training spot at the Fingertips centre for 5th May. Sooooooooooooo excited. ><

I'm going May 17th! I feel like a kid at Christmas. I CANNOT wait! :)

Ok, have been wondering about this service. Previously I would do polish on an under 16 but not enhancements. As Shellac veers more towards polish than enhancement, would you perform this on an under 16?

I know! As soon as I got the email I got all giddy and phoned straight away.

I almost wish I was going, just to see hundreds of over-excited nail techs!

Woot! Woot! Am attending a free Shellac Attack class on May 26th, and the owner just ordered the intro kit, extra removers, and Fedora, Iced Cappuccino, and Strawberry Smoothie. It's not expected to arrive until mid to late June. Boo! Oh well, at least we have it on the way! :) And at least it's not March anymore! haha!

Hi,

Can anyone tell me about the new Shellac from Creative - is it similar to Calgel? :p

I have merged the two threads so all your answers are here.

What is these Shellac attack classes?
How do I go about booking myself on one? Does anyone know if there are any in Essex/ London?
I am unable to attend the event, but will definatly be ordering the shellac on the 4th May, how have other people managed to place orders already?
Would you need to attend a trainning course in Shellac?

I got an email about Shellac Attack from The Figertios Centre who are my distributor in Scotland. The trainig is free when you buy the kit.

If you contact Sweet Squared I'm sure they'll point you in he direction of your local distributor. HTH Lx

Have been saving all my Q's up for the event, but now just trying to do a little marketing, to get some clients interested prior to launch, and I phoned S2 this morning and had a chat with them about it, but I am very interested to to know from anyone who has tried it, whether Shellac will be suitable for use over freshly Spa Manicured nails?

I never find the adhesion from other systems (L&P, Bio, Brisa etc) as great over over freshly spa manicured nails as they are so lovely and moisturised (even surface dehydrated)...and I do get more lifting, so I tend to keep the services as seperate, but if Shellac can be used immedaitely after Spa Mani (or Pedi) then its already a winner in my books!
