Just to harp back to my c**p day yesterday again! Two clients wanted 'straight' smile lines - now I found this really hard to do cos on the FDFC we were taught how to do 'deep' curved smile lines which personally I find alot easier.
The first client only told me this after I'd already applied the tips to her nails, having done little 'wings' at the sides as taught on the course. Hence, when I applied the white l&p in a straight line I got ghastly shadowing through the pink when I applied that. I really couldn't possibly have not put the 'wings' on the tips though cos she was a terrible biter and had no free edge at all, so if I'd done the tips completely straight they would have come off before I'd got to the applying the product stage.
Anyway as I was prewarned with the second client, I tailored the end of the tips to be completely straight. But they still don't adhere to the natural nail very well as the nail itself is curved, so I ended up with a bizarre gap between the straight edge of the tip and the side of her natural nail - oohh so frustrating!!! Does anyone know what I'm talking about - I think I'm going insane, I dream about nails now, I need therapy...! So how do you do straight smile lines - please help me before I go bonkers trying to work out what I should have done!
