Hi everyone, this is my first post and im sorry if its a bit long but im stuck on what to do and could use some advice.
I love all aspects of beauty therapy but waxing is by far my most favourite thing to do and this is a area that I would like to specialize in. The area I live in has massive potential for something like this but what would be my best option to go down this route? I tried getting into college but because I left school without any GCSE's they wouldn't allow me in, tried a couple of years later and I still didn't get in. I tried to get apprenticeships but was told I was too old. The best I managed to get was a 3 month work placement in a fairly new salon but the owner wasn't able to take me on and train me and has since shut down due to having children. Also at that time I went on a 1 day waxing course which trained me to use the Clean & Easy roller system which I didn't rate very much. Then I had a accident which caused injury to my back and left me unable to work but now I am ready to start trying again after 6 years and really want to get into waxing so what would be the best way?
Do I try college again and do 2 years just for the NVQ? Could I do a 1 day accredited course and go from there? Shell out for a 10 week fast track course? I saw a 2 week Elite Waxing NVQ Level 2 with the Carlton Institute which is expensive and far to go but seems like the best option so far. I really don't know what would be best to do so any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks xx
