I was seriously considering doing the Carlton Institute NVQ2 but after reading posts on this site it has put me off.

So who do i go for?
Do I need an NVQ?
Has anyone applied for a Career Development Loan to fund the course?

So many questions you will be sick of me

Emma hun, which NVQ 2?

its the NVQ2 Nail services

[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]NVQ LEVEL 2 IN NAIL SERVICES
The perfect course for students starting out in Nails
The new NVQ standards were introduced in August 2004 and this is the first time that a full NVQ qualification in Nails has been available. It will soon become the nail industry's required qualification and we are delighted to be one of the first to offer it. Save money by enrolling on all 3 courses below plus one of the optional units.

sorry just copy/pasted

really dont want to waste money on them if the training is not as detailed as i need
i am a complete novice apart from doing my own nails (and my mums)

Hi Emma

One of the most important things is the is the teacher (have a look at the thread 'Standards of educators' which may help)

The NVQ2 is a nice collection of units although it only includes a fibre system as the artificial bit. This is absolutely fine unless you want to do gel or l&p which is in Level 3.

My advice would be to check out the teachers first.

Marian
