As the dust settles from the 44th edition of Cosmoprof Bologna 2011, which took place 18-21 March, the show has been hailed a success by organiser So.Ge.Cos.

Increased attendance at the show is proof of buoyant times ahead for the beauty market, said the organiser.

“We recorded 177,287 visitors in just four days,” said Fabio Roversi Monaco, president of Bologna Fiere. “All data confirms that the Italian exhibition has become extremely successful on an international level.”

Cosmoprof Bologna is widely regarded as one of the biggest dates in the global beauty calendar. This year it hosted 2,300 exhibitors from 58 countries over an area of 194,000sqm.

We were there on the friday. I don't think it was as innovative as the UK shows, most of the draw was in the nail section. It was interesting because there alot of companies in various halls that were displaying their products but would only sell to companies via a minimum order purchase. The company i was dealing with asked for a 5000 Euro minimum order deal.

Our company is ABC Beauty and we were there on the Saturday. Although it is great to see this major show, we actually got more contacts at the hotel.
