Has anyone used the amber mist spray tanning extractor? i need a new one as my 1 year old daughter manage to break my one! The amber mist one seems very reasonably priced, however it does seem to be quite small, and wondered if it was only aimed at airbrush machines??
Could anyone help me out please? or even suggest a different extractor that isnt to expensive.
Many thanks x

I think Suntana do one for the same price as Ambermists and a bit bigger.

Both will be designed to extract solution from the air and it would depend more on the power of the motor/fan than the size in general. If you call them they should be able to tell you how many microns per minute etc it can remove (or similar) so that you can compare units.

Extractors will be dropping in price within the next 6 months as demand means the munufacturers are able to get better pricing the more they get made. If you can't hang fire, I am sure a bit of negotiating this weekend will go a long way as companies try to get business during show time.

I'm with kate on this one. Are you using an airbrush or a HVLP?
If you are using an airbrush you would be better off investing in the latter as this produces less mist & mess, and is more cost effective!!

The amber mist extract module is pretty good and looks good.

In terms of what size extract module you choose is very much dependant on
1)the type of system you have..I.E. an airbrush will create a lot more airborne particles than a HVLP system
2) Your technique..the closer you spray will effect far less over spray and therefore reduce the need for extraction and air purification
3) Solutions with a higher initial colour guide may also give the impression of more over spray
4) Last but not least..the size of your room and the location of the extract module relevant to the spray tan work area.

It is important to give extraction/air filtration careful thought as is the positioning of the unit relative to the spray area...not enough extraction or placing it to far away could not only result in making more of a mess to your room but could cause more solution dropping on to the feet causing overdose to these areas.

An extraction unit placed correctly will allow the correct amount of solution to drop down onto the feet to create an even tan.

Additionally units that have washable filters can save you money over units that incorporate disposable filters..although the disposable filters do a far better job in extracting airborne particles than the washable ones do.

HTH
Lots to consider and its always best to discuss things with equipment providers before making any purchases.
