hiya, when i have a full set of nails (on myself), i get a whiteish line appear just under my smile line (it looks like i havent placed the acrylic far enough down to cover the natural nail but i definately have) i havnt had this happen to me for a while now as my nails havnt been off but last year whilst at college, each half term we had i would have my nails done(we wernt allowed them in term time). by the next morning, this line would appear and didnt fade. since finishing college and having my nails on constantly, this hasnt happend to me once (the line dissapeared after my first maintenance, i think it maybe faded or went down - cant quite remember!).... anyway, id always wondered what it was and just thought i was strange as it had NEVER happend to me with a client.... until a couple of months ago, i did a f/s on a girl and she txt me a few days later to say she had this white line. she had however just taken nails off which were done elsewhere that same day.. (bitten them off on the same day as i did the f/s). neway i explained that it could be down to her nails being sensitive as they did look a little sore, that the line should fade and if she had any other probs or qs just to let me know... i didnt hear anything as she said she was really happy with them. this was over christmas and i totally forgot about it until i did her nails again today and she mentioned the last time. i told her to let me know how she gets on & if the line appears... it just really annoying me that i dont know what it is!!!

sorry to go on! just wanted to explain myself properly.. hope i havnt confused anyone!
thanx

oh sorry forgot to say.. the line that appears is actually on the nail plate x

definately agree nail plate lifting at free edge often due to trauma. In time they can get better (grow out) however you must keep an eye on them if they appear to be travelling further down its time for removal and rest.
x
also keep nails short
