Hi all

I may be in the wrong category (prob business) but I am interested in offering Botox but believe you have to have a Dr to apply it. Does anyone know where you go to ask someone to run a Botox clinic or do I train to do it?

Any advice welcome!

Unless you are a Dr, Dentist, Nurse then the simple answer is, No, you can't train to do it. Even a nurse has to be a nurse perscriber or he/she needs to bring in a Dr to get the prescription for the botox, then leaving less on profit as the Dr needs to get a "cut", too. If you google training for botox, then you will clearly see that beauticians need not apply as the criteria is as I have already said. You can phone a few places, say 10 or 20 miles away from your salon that advertises a Dr doing that service and see if they would be interested in holding a clinic in your salon. You would then be paid a % you have to take into account that a lot of these clinics wont come to you, say once a month, unless you have at least, min. 4/5 clients to make it worth their while making the trip to you.
Hope this helps.

hi i have researched this also, the lady who does botox for my mother is a physiotherapist and she said she had to argue her way on to the course argue the fact that she has degrees in muscles etc and she administered drugs so prob new more in depth info about body parts and functions than a nurse.

the lady who does botox in our salon is a qualified nurse so it does look as though you have to be in that kind of profession to train.

but yes you can advertise that you are looking for someone to offer bottox/fillers in your salon then you will make a small profit from what they make plus intice new customers to the salon.

thanks for that. I don't want to train to do it, far too scary for me! But i will ring around other salons to see if i can 'borrow' their doc once in a while!

thanks again guys! :)

Try contacting collagenics - www.collagenics.com

They provide doctors and nurses to do clinics for botox etc at your salon. You will get paid a commission. We have used them for some time with no problems at all. Hope that helps.
