The acquisition of Lena White Ltd. by Coty Inc. is big business news. In fact, it's such big business news the story found itself on the front page of The Daily Telegraph's Business section (pictured).

Yesterday Lena White Ltd. announced that they had entered into an agreement with Coty Inc. regarding the acquisition of the business which has been the exclusive UK distributor for OPI for professionals, salons, retail outlets and QVC for over 30 years. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This move will see Coty Inc. directly lead the development of the OPI brand in the UK - their second biggest world wide market - and work to strengthen OPI's presence in the professional salon via integration of Lena White's expert personnel. In addition, Lena White's signature programme on QVC "In The Salon With OPI" will continue to showcase salon trade secrets, insider tips and new OPI products.

“This acquisition is a natural next step in growing one of Coty’s 10 power brands, OPI,” said Michele Scannavini, CEO of Coty Inc. “The OPI business strategy remains focused on the salon professional and the prestige channel, and we expect to accelerate growth of the brand through the integration of the product into our international distribution platform. We welcome the Lena White Ltd team to the Coty family.”

“We are all excited about the next phase of opportunity for Lena White Ltd and OPI,” said Lena White. “Our management team will continue in this new structure and we look forward to embracing the ‘Faster. Further. Freer.’ culture of Coty.”

Until then...geek on!
