The 'Dell Beginnings' advert, launched earlier this year, told the inspiring stories behind many of today's biggest companies and the incredible people that made them happen.
One of those people, Jane Wurwand, who started Dermalogica at her kitchen table on a rainy night in Los Angeles was invited to be present at this years Dell Women Entrepreneurs Network. The event brought together 200 female entrepreneurs from over 14 different countries around the world and was an exclusive, invitation-only event.
Jane sat on the Bold Beginnings, Brave Futures panel alongside; Anasuya Gupta, Chairperson & Managing Director, CICO Technologies Limited and Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, Founders, Gilt Groupe.
Jane explained that when she launched Dermalogica in 1986, she had never taken a business class and was not a chemist, but she wanted to test her ideas about using natural ingredients to enhance skins health rather than focusing on beauty.
The Dell Womens Entrepreneur Network (DWEN) celebrates the accomplishments of women in business. The event put a spotlight on the positive impact that women-owned businesses are having on the global economy and unite around this years theme of Pay It Forward which was bought to life at the event.
Until then...geek on!
