New beauty bar chain, Blow, has opened its first London store in Covent Garden and is hoping to promote a new business concept that bridges the gap between high street service and online retail.

The chain is backed by the same people behind successful online brands such as Asos and Net-a-Porter and there are already two further London sites planned.

The salon offers blow dries, make up applications and express manicures for 'time poor, demanding women' and Dharmash Mistry, co-founder of Blow, believes that this is what women need.

"We think that fast beauty is a different concept to a salon. Either we do it for you - so you come to the bar for fifteen minute nails or fifteen minute make up - or we help you do it at home with lots of editorial and how-to videos, and a full e-commerce shop."

It's a system that allows women to be flexible about their beauty regime in the same way that they can choose to work flexi hours - Blow wants to support whatever it is that works best for them.

The brand aims to generate 50% of its revenue from retails sales of its range which currently includes products from across 25 brands.

Mistry explains, "We see this as fusing retail and service, online and offline. The bar is just one part of the mix."

Until then...geek on!
