Hi

I've moved from the UK to Spain and unfortunately there are no Alessandro outlets anywhere near where I live now. Does anyone know if you can buy Alessandro products online??

Many thanks.

Thanks Cro-Mari. Unfortunately this site does not do online sales.

For some reason my post has been moved out of the Nail forum and into general chit chat!?!?!? Well, I hope someone can move it back again as I need other Nail Pros to see it.

I want to know if anyone knows of somewhere that I can buy Alessandro products online as there are no suppliers local to where I have just moved (Spain).

I am a Nail Pro and am currently having to make do with brands that I do not like. I would like to return to doing Alessandro Gel Nails.

thanks

Maybe I'm being thick :green: but can't you call them and say - send me this and this please, through post? And if not, ask what else could be done for you to get what you want? Well, if they are the distributors, they should know! If you are Alessandro educated, that wouldn't be a problem. In my country, you can't buy their products if not educated with them.

Secondly, if you are so acustomed to Alessandro, you could try Abalico. It's very similar, and very good, I have been working with them for awhile. I think those were family members that got into fight and made their own companies so Alessandro became Alessandro and Abalico

And me also don't get why is this moved to Chit Chat :green:

Hi Cro-Mari

Sorry, I should have elaborated further. I looked through their website and although they sell some Alessandro stuff, they don't seem to sell the Soft Gels, tips, or any of the Pro stuff. It mostly seems to be comsumer products....nail polishes etc.

If there is already an established online/mail order site somewhere where I could buy Alessandro gels I would prefer to deal with them if I can, rather than a shop that does not advertise this service.

I will call them though to see if they can tell me where they buy their supplies. You never know.

The only brands that I seem to be able to get in local outlets is called "Star Nails" and that is what I have been using since I moved house, but I don't really like it very much. Seems amateurish. Does anyone else have an opinion on Star Nails?

Yes, I wish someone could move my post back into the Nail Forum......I haven't had any new replies since they took it out! I need some Nail Pros to help me here!!!

Have you done a Google search? I just Googled "alessandro gel nails" and came up with a supplier in the UK, if I were you then I would contact them and ask them if they can recommend an on-line distributor in Spain/Portugal.

Thanks ValencianNails

I have googled and get Nailworx as the first hit (lots of dead links and their online shop doesn't work).

Second google hit is this forum! (hence I ended up posting on here to try and get some help).

Then I get lots of Youtube videos and a handful of salons. I haven't found any suppliers though.

What was the name of the one you got?

Thanks

The same as you.

I've found their main site, it's in German but with English pages too...
Contact - alessandro

Sadly they don't mail order the gels. I did get in contact with them about a local supplier, but my "local" supplier is a short plane flight away and doesn't do mail order!

So this is why I am now looking for a mail order company (located anywhere in the world!) that can send me Alessandro gels.

thanks

If you're having this much trouble getting products then it might be worth your while considering changing to another brand. I know it isn't ideal, but you need to have a supplier that can supply you.

Creative, NSI and EZflow all have outlets over here.

Ariadna Colomer is the lady you need to contact at Creative, The Colomer Group is the company who distribute CND in Spain, the head office is in Barcelona, 93 274 73 75. They will be able to tell you if any of their sub-distributors offer an online service.
I don't know the contact details for the other 2, sorry.

Yes, if the Alessandro thing turns out to be a dead end I will have to look at another product.

I am currently using Star Nails which I really don't like at all, it's just that this is the only brand they sell locally here.

Apart from Alessandro and Star Nails I have no experience with any other brands so don't really know how to weigh up the pros and cons and will be fumbling around in the dark.

I never thought getting supplies could be so difficult, and I have to admit there are times when I just think about jacking it all in. I even bought a couple of pots of Alessandro gel from eBay one time (just to give you a clue how desperate I am!!!)

If I do end up switching to another brand I will somehow need to ensure that I don't make a very expensive mistake. There are two important issues for me:

1 MUST be top quality (I don't care about the price).
2 MUST be available mail order as I have no outlets locally.

So now I think this thread is going to deviate into "which brand is best" thread. It is very difficult to know which brand to switch to when you have no experience of any of the alternatives.

(I won't use the contact details you have supplied me just yet ValencianNails as I don't know which brand I will ultimately settle for, but thanks anyway).

I'm sorry that you have trouble getting what you want, but must agree with ValencianNails... I don't know spanish regulations, but that online ordering from other countries might get you into much more expences than conversion itself...

for instance: if I ordered something like that from abroad, not as a private person but as a company (and some of them won't sell you if you don't have licenced business), I would have to pay: taxes (VAT), import fees (if something is not made in EU), and gels, LP and cosmetics (and food also) have to go to sanitary check up first, where they take as much of the products they want to check if it's safe to go onto the skin, nails and so, and that sanitary control is also very expencive. I also wanted to order gels, LP and wax online, but when I did my math... :irked: I had to forget about it.

Also, some of them won't send LP abroad, since monomer is considered a hazardous liquid.

So what ever you do, check everything first before you order something from abroad.

Thanks Cro_Mari, that's a good point. I suppose I will have to limit my search to Spain.

So what do other Nail Pros do here in Spain.....do you all have local distributors within an easy car's drive of where you work? or do you have to mail order?

How do I weigh up the pros and cons of Creative v NSI v all of the other brands out there without actually trying them???!

I feel completely lost now :-(

I use Tevian (Creative) in Valencia, it takes me about half an hour in the car to get to them, but I would travel further if I had to in order to get the products I want. Maybe making a trip once every 1-2 months of an hour or more and making sure you have enough stock to last.

I chose Creative's Brisa gel for a few reasons:
Award winning education.
Strong durable gel that's non yellowing and gives fantastic longevity.
Excellent support after training.
They also have coverage gels as well as the option to mix any colour you want by custom blending from the Bolds and adding glitz by using the Shimmer kit.

I feel completely lost now :-(
There are lots of threads on here re which gel to choose, my suggestion would be to do a search and prepare yourself for a lot of reading

Well, you don't have to be :green:
If I were you (and I'm not, so only you can make the best decision), I would look through all of what peeps here say on both of those products (or any else). But still - there is one point too - look which company can provide you with best quality education, no matter the cost may be. How do I know? Well, I went through 'affordable' course and then had to bang my head for the next 6 months and spent much more money... and there will always be someone who will say the best for both of those companies :)

I'm not CND nor NSI user, so I'm not cheering for neither of them :green: ok, maybe CND :green: but look what each conversion gives, then who will take care of you after the course and things like that. If not, there are both CND and NSI videos on the web so you can take a peek :)

Thanks Cro-Mari

Where I live now there doesn't seem to be the culture of having your nails done, so I am trying to create a bit of a market here. The downside of course is that there are no suppliers and also (I suspect) there will be nobody running any courses locally. So I doubt I will have the luxury of a course to introduce me to a new product.

I was so happy with Alessandro, it seems such a shame to go all the way back to Square One but it doesn't look like I will have any alternatives.

So I guess I will spend my Sunday researching other brands for gel :irked:. Thanks for your tips so far.

Don't worry  you'll be fine.
If you go, and I'm sure you will, through all the 'what's the best gel' threads, you'll see that some of the names come up more often than others, but still, there are many products to chose from, and that might be confusing. You'll see that people say - I love this or that product, this one is best, but the key word is - the best for them and their preferences and they are all doing beautifull nails (And I'm speaking of quality products).

Again I say, I'm not trying to push you to any particular product nor I'm saying - they are all the same, coz they are not.

Accidentaly, I had to try many, many products because I was allergic to one I did training with, and was very upset to have to find something else.
Also I did not have money and time to go through all conversions, maybe few hours of lessons, because I was simply buying pots (or samples) to see will my skin react and then think about conversion later.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that conversions are not needed, no  but I tried IBD, EZ flow, Alessandro, Abalico, Brisa, NSI, Cesars secrets, American nails, Trosani, La Femme, Magnetic, my God, what else? one phase, two phase, monophase, thick, thin... all kinds of them... but after some time of adaptation, I was able to produce decent set of nails with no lifting and cracking with most of those gels, and in the end, it was up to my personal preference of what gel do I like and which one suits me best.

Again - I'm talking quality companies that can provide you best service, support and education.
