Hi,

I'm looking at renting one of my salon chairs, can anyone help me with how insurance works? Do they need their own insurance or would it just be myself that needs insurance that also covers chair renters?

Any advice is much appreciated!

Thanks.

I recommend you do a thorough interview and trades test before agreeing to rent the chair.
You don’t want a lazy incompetent chair renter mucking up your reputation with shoddy work or not turning up when clients are booked in. Unfortunately, clients will assume that as it’s your salon, you’re responsible for resolving any issues, even though you can’t really interfere if they’re self employed.

The NHF provides chair rental contracts.
