I have one very elderly lady as mobile due to her mobility problems and the rest come to my home.
In early April I had Covid. I was very ill and spent about 2 and a half weeks in bed only getting up for the toilet. My hubby brought me food in bed and I packed at sandwiches for the most part. So I have first hand experience of a, fortunately non hospitalised Covid. However I am still feeling incredibly tired and wiped out. Sleeping extra most days !
Prior to getting it I was fastidious about cleaning my hands and arms each time.. and if Ihad been out to the shops I changed clothes each time and washed my face and wiped over my hair too.
As and when I feel well enough to open properly I am so worried about potential reinfection - I don't think they have confirmed that you definitely have immunity have they after you have had it have they? ..and likewise..as fastidiously clean as I was there is no guarantee that I would not infect me clients even if my cleaning regime was followed.

For all of my other clients who come to my home entry to my house is only possible through the front door so I would need to make sure nobody touched anything..they need to walk through my house. I would need to stop them using the toilet as it is used by my family too. If I follow them to the toilet and then clean it all
They will be in my house for even longer.
Are mobile therapists and home based therapists actually included in the salon and spa reopening guidance or is it different ? Clearly the 2m rule will be relaxed for therapist if the 4th July opening goes ahead but if the rule of not being able to go into a house is still in place the decision may well be taken out of our hands. When doing nails it is close front facing contact anyway.
What about home workers and mobile .. does anybody have any information regarding guidance for a non salon based therapist ?

As far as I am aware the guidelines for salons reopening on July 4th are the same for mobile & home salons even though the situation is very different. As you said, if we still can not enter peoples homes by then, i don’t know where we stand.
BTW, glad to hear you’re fully recovered from the worst of the virus. You’ll need to look after yourself extra hard when you return to work.

You need to follow Marion Newman on FB, she (with other specialists) has created a set of return to work guidelines that provide information for salons, mobile and home-based techs specifically. There is no way of completely preventing infection (as you've witnessed for yourself) but it provides Risk Assessment basics, touch mapping recommendations, hygiene routines, etc. It's extremely comprehensive and I'm sure will give you lots of useful advice and confidence that you are approaching reopening in a way that will protect you, your family and your clients yo the best of your ability.

Of course, if you still don't want to open then this is a choice you need to make, only you know what's right for you and yours
