Winners of the inaugural Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards 2014 presented by Fake Bake were revealed on Sunday 13 July, at the Cardiff City Stadium. The glamorous evening was hosted by Capital FM South Wale’s, breakfast presenter, Polly James.

Awards were based upon public nominations which, this year received thousands of votes covering twenty-two specialist categories. Accolades included Beautician of the Year, Hair Salon of the Year and Makeup Specialist of the Year, amongst many others. The Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards recognise and reward some of Wales' top hair and beauty experts and in turn celebrates the amazing breadth of talent and style in this country.

The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was won by the Todaro Family, having gone through three generations; the family run business, Todaro’s Hairdressing has been trading for 52 years, while fashion model-turned-osteopath George Jones took home the Hair and Beauty Guru award.

With over 300 attendees, including Josie Gibson (TV Personality) and Alice Ford (the current Miss Wales) the guests were also treated to special performances by the talented, Charlee Drew.

Sandra Vaughan, CEO of Fake Bake UK commented, “Fake Bake takes the position of title sponsor this year and have made their mark with three of their own categories: Fake Bake Therapist, Fake Bake Spray Tanner and Fake Bake Salon.

We had a great night at this year’s awards and enjoyed the opportunity to share in the successes of the elite hair and beauty professionals Wales have to offer.”

The Awards also helped raise over £1600 for the official charity partner, Make A Wish Foundation UK granting magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
