Express nails

Hi geeks I was wondering what are express nails? And are they better than acrylics and gel?

In my area, express nails are either stick ons applied by a pro nail tech, or just tips, without a gel/acrylic overlay, so would last perhaps a night or weekend but quick to do. So not really in the same league as acrylics/gels x
