i trained in eyelash extensions last year and after a few knocks to my confidence i have managed to start doing quite a few sets of lashes and have very happy customers.
i started doing a new ladies lashes 3 months ago and started off doing really well she already had lashes on and wanted me to take over the maintenance. she had been really pleased with what i have been doing and i have introduced her to new curls etc that give her the look that she wanted. unfortunately a few weeks ago at her maintenance appointment she had NO extensions left in. i had only seen her the week before so couldnt believe she had none left in.
i had mentioned perhaps taking all the lashes out and re doing a new set using the new curl, length etc as she has been wearing them for 6 months. she asked how much this would be and i said and she said that was fine.
on further inspection of the lashes i noticed there was a lot of damage, and even a gap along the lash line. i agreed to do a half set as she was going out that night and wanted them back on. i only extended the healthy looking lashes and said she would not be able to have them as thick as she would like them as the lashes were not strong enough. i went back this week and they were looking better so put some more in, but shorter ones than what she would have liked. again stating she needed to give her lashes a bit of tlc. i told her i was thinking about using a new glue and had lots of new lashes including colours.
i used the same glue as before and what i use on all my other clients but did use some faux mink lashes which i have not used before...........
she has text me today to ask if i have used a different curl or glue than usual as her eyes are itching i said no just shorter she has asked that when i go back next week she wants me to use the longer lashes that i used before as these dont irritate her eyes but thinks these shorter one are ????? please help what are your thoughts on this it is really starting to knock my confidence again and after just spending out £75 on new lashes i cant afford to give up.

Hi Claire

I've been doing lashes for over 2.5 years now and solely do lashes full-time. When I first started I tried to please every one of my clients, but I've learnt the hard way that lashes are not for everyone, this client could be one of them. Sometimes it's better to let people go and replace them with easier clients.

I have developed a harsh 2 strike rule. If a new client has a problem with their lashes I will get them back in and try a different glue and different lash lengths. I do tell them if this doesn't work there is nothing more I can do for them and they need to decide whether they want to keep up with the cost of maintenance.

As much as you can do a beautiful set of lashes, what the client does to them and how they maintain them is outside of your control. You would be fighting a pointless battle trying to keep them onto someone who is manhandling them.

As for your client, it sounds like she's had an allergic reaction. You can develop an allergy to anything at anytime, so she might have become intolerent to your glue. You should give her a patch test to see if you can still put lashes on her or not.

The different lash lengths won't be the issue as they are all made from the same thing.

If a client has had problems with the lashes staying on, the last thing I'd do is give them longer lashes because they'd fall out even quicker.

But if you're ever stressing lots about a client. Think about how many hours you've spent stressing about it, multiply that by your hourly rate and decide if it's really worth it. Not all business is good business and sometimes you will come across clients you should let go.

It does sound like she's had a reaction so might not be suitable for lashes anyway.

Good luck

Yolanda

Keep going hun, dont let it get down. It sounds like more of a client issue than a lash issue.

I totally agree with Redchic, sometimes clients are just not worth the worry they cause or the confidence they steal.

Chin up hun (((hugs)))

Hi

I am fairly new to eyelash extensions only been doing them for a month and just wondered what are the minx type lashes X

sorry spelling mistake mink type lol X

Im new to eyelash extensions as well and was wondering what make up remover you recommend for your clients ?

What Lashes do you use ?

Sorry for hi-jacking x x

I trained and used Glamlash and would recommend them to anyone.

You have to use a oil free make up remover when you have lashes on X
