I have created a new page for facebook.

Ive set up a fan page, through my own page.

How do i get new fans? ive already sent requests to my friends, am i able to send requets to people I dont know?

Im new to facebook so dont have many friends :cry: lol!!

What I did, was ask my friends who lived in the area to me if I could put a link on their wall and ask them to ask their friends to join for offers and discounts - worked a treat, I've gained 40 new fans in 5 days :o)

Go onto your business page, copy the http address (I usually use ctrl and C) then go onto friends wall's post a message and paste the link ( I usually use ctrl and P) its a simple cut and paste job - works a treat!
Ask the friends before though in case they don't agree becaue once they report you you could lose the group page through it.

Another thing you can do is join groups of like minded people, such as spas or skin care, waxing... etc., join discussions and post links on group pages (if they allow it). People will then see your links & your discussions and they can send friend requests that way.

How I found my Facebook link is by running a search on myself, clicking on my name, copying the link and posting it to my website.
Your http should look something like this:

facebook.com / people / your-name / & a 10 digit number

I guess the content of your post is the most important to get a lot of friends even if you don't know them. Have you tried facebook fan page? I've read an article about it,and it is the newest hit to get your business marketed. Twiiter is also great in internet marketing.
